About this deal

I don’t know how many people have told me I NEEDED to read this book and I’m very happy I decided to do a buddy read of it with my bestie Sabrina. I'm not usually one to go gaga for sports romance or big, muscle-men, but I think hockey might be the spot where I make my exception. Honestly I’m not really a sports romance fan, but I didn’t care about this aspect in this case since this book it’s written by two authors I really enjoy. Sarina Bowen is the twenty-four-time USA Today bestselling and Wall Street Journal bestselling author of three dozen books, including: the True North series, and Brooklyn Hockey.

Pero pese la cansancio, la tos, el dolor de garganta y los mocos, aquí estoy, hablándonos de Him aún sin asumir que lo empecé hace unas horas. We have Jamie, he is the guy everyone loves, hot, sweet, sexy, fun and on his way to the NHL but he is a little apprehensive about what he wants to do with his life. What I love:The witty banterThe realistic questioningThe sincerity of caringThe deep yearningsThe serious questionsThe steamy bitsThere really isn't anything that I didn't like except the book ended. And I can honestly say, even with all the great M/M hockey romances I have read over the years, this one is now my favorite. Some of the dialogue is a little juvenile, as other reviewers have pointed out, but considering that the MCs are 22 and grew up in locker rooms, I found their sometimes crass way of talking believable. There is just something about the spike of adrenaline these boys experience on the ice and how they carry that spike over into the bedroom that has my heart leaping and my libido humming. Wes was also an excellent character, how he loved Jamie but was willing to let him go because he thought he was corrupting him. Whenever his beloved popped up, Wes turned into a lovesick puppy and it just made my romantic heart all mushy inside.

Ryan Wes and Jamie fist met each other in a hockey camp when they were young teenagers, and they go back to that camp every summer.

So let's see here; we have friends-to-lovers, second chance romance and GFY all mixed in with sizzling chemistry and humor. A weak storyline, made worse by uninteresting two dimensional characters, leaving a constant unmet need for something exciting to happen. There's always a character that is homophobic and in true story fashion it turns out to be a kid's parent. Happened on page 285, after Jaime had assured Wes he was interested in both sexes, already gifted him sentimental gifts and even took the man on a whole ass date.
